Wow

“Natural splendor meets a man-made marvel at Glacier Skywalk, a spectacular observation platform situated high in the Canadian Rockies and unveiled last May. Designed by Sturgess Architecture in collaboration with the engineering firm Read Jones Christoffersen, this cantilevered parabolic pathway extends 100 feet from the edge of a cliff, thanks to an innovative system of Cor-Ten–steel supports. There’s no better place to enjoy panoramas of Alberta’s Jasper National Park, roughly four hours by car from Calgary. (The site is open seasonally, from May to October.) But those faint of heart, beware: The structure’s floor and balustrade are glass, affording vertiginous unobstructed views not only across the majestic canyon but also underfoot to the rugged ice field 900 feet below.”
