Carbon Monoxide Detector Bill
Effective July 1, 2009, all homes listed for sale will require a carbon monoxide detector be installed. For the complete Bill, click here.
Here are the highlights…
– Must be installed within 10 feet of the entrance to each bedroom or other room for used for sleeping purposes.
– Applies to homes for sale after July 1, 2009, regardless of whether it’s a new construction home or a resale home.
– Any person who installs or maintains the unit, in accordance with the manufacturer’s published instructions in existence at the time of installation, shall have no liability, directly or indirectly, to any person with respect to the operation, maintenance, or effectiveness of the unit.
