Fun with Sump Pumps
If you have a sump pump, I'm sure the storms last week made you VERY aware of whether it's working or not.
My good friend and client, Tim, sent me this picture of his old sump pump after he spent 2 hours in the middle of the night bailing out the sump pit. Unfortunately his old pump wasn't working.
It's a good idea to pour 5-10 gallons of water into your sump pit every year to make sure it's functioning properly. The pump can be replaced yourself for $200-$300 or a handyman can do it for ~$500 or so.
