Denver’s Economic Performance
From Denver Business Journal…
“Denver’s economic performance ranks 34th among the 100 largest U.S. cities in the Brookings Institution’s latest quarterly “MetroMonitor” report on how cities are coping with the economic downturn.
Denver’s No. 34 ranking for the second quarter improves on its No. 39 ranking in the previous MetroMonitor report issued in June, which was the first in the Brookings series.
The report assesses how the recession has affected big-city employment, wages, gross metropolitan product, housing prices and foreclosure rates. Its main message is that the recession has had widely differing impacts on different cities, and so recovery will be uneven.”
